Groundbreaking Photograph Collection

On Thursday, November 2nd, 1972, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new law school building took place at the corner of Forbes Avenue and Bouquet Street. Chancellor Wesley W. Posvar presided over the event for the new six-story, $7.9 million building. The short program preceding the groundbreaking included William Rea, the chairman of the board of trustees; William J. Copeland Esquire, who chaired the 3.5 Capital Funds campaign; Maz Barth, the architectural advisor to Governor Milton Shapp; Charles M. Blue, Deputy Executive Director of the General State Authority; Harry Scott, President of the Student Bar Association; and Edward Sell, dean of the law school. Approximately 125 people attended the ceremony. The building was completed in late fall of 1975 and opened for classes the spring semester of 1975.
